Application Role
In a typical outdoor energy storage PCS or PV inverter, the PFC boost stage shapes input current, improves power factor, reduces harmonic distortion and raises the DC bus before DC/AC conversion. The toroidal power inductor is one of the key magnetic components that defines current ripple, copper loss, thermal rise and saturation margin.
Design Features
Copper flat wire winding supports high-current operation with lower winding resistance and improved heat dissipation.
Iron-silicon composite core options are used for DC bias capability and stable inductance under load.
IP protection, moisture, dust, corrosion exposure and thermal cycling should be considered during specification review.
Inductance, current, size, terminal form and mounting method can be reviewed against the actual converter platform.
Typical Parameter Scope
100 uH to 5 mH reference range
30 A to 500 A+ reference range
10 kHz to 100 kHz reference range
Energy storage PCS, solar inverter, EV charger, OBC, DC-DC, industrial and telecom power
Engineering Review Boundary
The values above are typical application ranges, not a universal guarantee. For a real design, ProMagTech should review converter topology, voltage range, ripple current, saturation current, DCR target, thermal limit, core material, winding layout, insulation requirement, terminal design and validation plan together.
